If you happen to be an avid golfer looking for organized events, The Long Beach Pack Golf Club has several benefits to offer.
- Fun Fellowship and Friendship: On and off the course, this is what The Long Beach Pack Golf Club represents. We assist new golfers in learning the game and the rules of golf as well as the etiquette associated with the game.
- Western States Golf Association: Affiliation with this organization provides us an opportunity to meet with over 1300 African American golfers in six western states and beyond. There are over 30 clubs (twelve of which are in Southern California). The Pack has home & home play with many of these clubs. If you happen to be traveling to an area where affiliate clubs are located, you are welcome to contact them and join their game. Provided, of course, you've given them time to arange for it. The WSGA hosts its annual Championship Tournament in June. Every three years the tournament is held in one of the 5 regions. They are: Pacific Northwest (which includes Washington and Oregon); Northern California; Southern California; Pacific Desert and Arizona/Colorado.
- Tournaments: We play a tournament once a month at a course in the area. This allows our membership to play different courses without the hassle of securing a tee time. Tournaments are played under the rules of golf and include gross, net and closest to the pin prizes. We, also, have an optional skin game.
- USGA (GHIN) Handicaps: WSGA provides a handicap service that is computed on a bi-monthly basis. Members have the option of posting their scores at the course of play or online through the GHIN Web Site. Go to our LINKS page to get access to the GHIN web site.
- Pack News: Our monthly newsletter includes tournament results, member news, WSGA news, golf tips and activities provided by other clubs.
